I’ve mentioned before on this blog that I’m proud to be an Oklahoman, haven’t I? Oklahoma has been good to me personally, and to Better Barns as well. We have served the state from the Red River to the Kansas border, from Tulsa to Lawton, and from Idabel up to the Panhandle. Thousands of our fellow Okies have allowed us to come into their backyard.
We started our operation just south and west of Byars, OK. Byars, for those of you who don’t know, is located about halfway between Pauls Valley and Stratford. Our top of the line sheds are still built at the same location, but not under the original shade tree. Thankfully we have a large shop building!
From there, Vance and Dallen began to find reputable people to sell our products around the state. Our first successful dealer was LaGene Risenhoover in the Noble/Slaughterville area. LaGene and his staff still sell our products today, along with carports, steel buildings, greenhouses, storm shelters, garages, and more! We have been blessed to serve the southeast side of the metro from that location including: Purcell, Lexington, Shawnee, Tecumseh, Newalla, Harrah, Asher, and Wayne. A huge part of our customer base is located in those areas, and we look forward to continuing to serve our fellow Oklahomans in the region! Stop in and check out the vast selection with over 40 new and used portable sheds and a variety of carports and steel structures.
Another early addition was Mead Lumber in Ada, Oklahoma. We have a long working relationship with them as both a supplier and a display yard. Ada and the surrounding area including: Byng, Latta, Roff, Stratford, Allen, and Konawa, have been very kind to Better Barns. Thanks to all of you who have chosen Better Barns for your storage needs!
As we’ve grown, display locations have been added in Spencer, OK, Ardmore, OK, McAlester, OK, Marlow, OK, Duncan, OK, Chickasha, OK, Helena, OK, Little Axe, OK, Seminole, OK, and quite a few other locations. Due to the changing markets and other factors, some dealers have come and gone over the years. However, they’ve all played a part in the growth of our little company and for that we’re grateful!
If you are an Oklahoman like me, trust a local company to take care of your storage needs. We are locally owned and operated and always have been. I like to say, “We are Oklahomans serving Oklahomans.” Our focus has always been local and will continue to be. Occasionally good folks from out of state honor us with their business, but we know it is the great people of the Sooner State who help us put food on the table.
Oklahoma is OK!
